Competition Result

At the start of the month I opened up my first competition for an opportunity to have a reader’s poem onto my blog. The challenge was for entrants to create the most belly laughing poem that is 4-8 lines long. If I am being completely honest I didn’t receive as many applicants as I had first hoped ( I even extended the deadline). Also with complete honesty I felt many of the poems I did receive didn’t truly hit the brief. Unfortunately as a result I felt it would be unfair to announce 3-10 winners as I originally stated; there was only one entry that made me laugh the way I wanted to. So it is with great pleasure that I announce the winner of the competition is: Jay Sams– Midnight Stream.

Midnight Stream

After lying down to sleep
And praying “Lord my soul to keep”
I dreamed a dream
Of woodland stream
Cascading down on shining rocks
I removed my shoes and then my socks
Wading in to bathe with glee
I woke to bed sheets full of pee.

Well Done Jay, I thoroughly enjoyed your entry, the rhyming couplets and alliteration created something I thought was catchy, not overly complicated but fun to read. Most of all, it made me laugh.

Thank you all other entries, please do not let this put you off entering other competitions; it is not a reflection of your talent. To the readers, keep an eye for the next post as always.
